Deleting your Vespr account
Last updated: 1st June 2026
You can ask us to delete your Vespr Charge account and the personal data we hold about you at any time. You do not need the app installed to make this request.
How to request deletion
From the app: open Vespr Charge, go to Account → Security and privacy → Request account deletion.
By email: send a request to privacy@vespr.cloud from the email address registered to your account. Include the word “deletion” in the subject line. If you cannot email from the registered address, tell us the address so we can verify your identity another way.
We will confirm receipt within 5 working days and complete the request within one month, as required by UK GDPR. If the request is complex we may extend this by a further two months and will tell you why.
Who handles your request
Most Vespr accounts are created by an employer, landlord, fleet operator or installer who manages the charge points you use. Where that is the case, we will notify them of your request, because deleting your account will remove your access to their charge points. They may need to contact you about alternative arrangements. We do not need their permission to delete your personal data.
What is deleted
When your request is completed we delete:
- your name, email address, phone number and postal address
- your vehicle details, including make, model and registration
- your notification and marketing preferences
- your sign-in credentials, so you can no longer access the app
- push notification tokens registered to your devices
What is kept, and why
We cannot delete everything. The following is retained:
Charging session records
The date, duration and energy delivered for each charge. These are kept because the operator of the charge point needs them for billing, energy reconciliation and statutory reporting. They are anonymised: your name and contact details are removed and the records can no longer be linked to you.
Financial and tax records
Where a charging session has been invoiced, UK tax law requires records to be kept for six years from the end of the relevant accounting period.
Records of your deletion request
We keep a minimal record that the request was made and completed, so we can demonstrate we complied.
This retention is permitted under UK GDPR Article 17(3), which allows personal data to be kept where processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation or for the establishment or defence of legal claims.
Your other rights
You can also ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct anything inaccurate, or restrict how we use it. Email privacy@vespr.cloud.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your request you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
